Tzianos Chris


Chris graduated from the Rhodes ASTER hotel school in 1963 and immediately started pursuing a career in the tourism sector, taking a job at the Hilton Athens personnel office. During that period, he had the opportunity to gain valuable experience across various departments of the hotel. In 1971, he was selected by Hilton's management to attend the F&B management training program at the Hilton International Career Management  Institute in Montreal.

Since then, he had had the opportunity to lead or be part of the pre-opening phase for several luxury hotels across many counties, such as the Tananarive Hilton Madagascar, the Hilton Lodges Tsavo Parc Kenya, the Meridien Cairo, the Meridien Damascus, the Meridien Martinique, the N.J.V. Meridien Athens, the Astir Palace Athens and the Astir Palace Vouliagmeni.

From 1985 until 2010, he was general manager of the renowned Elounda Mare, Porto Elounda and Elounda Peninsula hotels in Crete. Under his management, Elounda Mare was the first hotel in Greece to become member of the Relais & Chateaux Association.

He has been a member of EHMA (European Hotel Managers Association) since 1991, serving for 9 years as president for Greece and vice president for Europe from 2010 to 2013.
