Davies Lisa


Lisa Davies began her international career working in the press office of the Deutsche Bank and Polydor International in Hamburg, Germany. She later returned to the UK to work for  the Wales Tourist Board, first in the press office, then in overseas marketing.

In 1990 she moved to Brussels to work as a national expert for the ‘European Year of  Tourism’ in the European Commission (Tourism Unit), then as tourism and sustainability expert for the AIT & FIA (automobile clubs), lobbying the European institutions on tourism  and environmental issues.

Latterly, as Head of Marketing for the European Travel Commission (ETC), she ran an internationally acclaimed programme of market intelligence, producing a series of studies and best-practice handbooks published jointly with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Her experience spans a wide range of fields: Press & PR, tourism research, marketing and branding, sustainable & cultural tourism, project management, website management, events organisation, publications, editing and translation.

She holds a B.A. (Honours) degree in Geography from the University of Birmingham, UK, a Postgraduate Diploma in German and French, and a Diploma in the visual arts and photography.
